TGI is a support group for all persons who consider that they are transsexual or transgendered, irrespective of their sexuality.

It is a non-hierarchical group consisting of one practising member from each of the groups which form the transgender/transsexual subculture ie crossdresser, transvestite, transsexual, drag queen, shemale, female impersonator etc. (together with their female counterparts).

TGI is totally unfunded, with out of pocket expenses being paid from members own resources.
